“Gdańsk Shipyard on the UNESCO World Heritage List”
The project was inspired by the motto “Freedom Against Divisions,” which refers to the historical events that took place in this location, shaping the course of European and global history. Against the backdrop of a map of Europe, divided by the symbolic wall of the Iron Curtain, elements of Gdańsk Shipyard's architecture are depicted – port cranes and historic industrial buildings.
The Iron Curtain – a symbol of the Cold War – cuts across the continent, reminding us of the barriers of isolation that existed between the East and the West for decades, until the transformative year of 1989. The Gdańsk Shipyard is a place of symbolic importance, where the “Solidarity” social movement was born, initiating processes of social and geopolitical change that led to the fall of communism in Europe,
the end of the Cold War, and the overcoming of global divisions.
The mural was intended to be a testament to this unique industrial and cultural heritage, highlighting the significance of this site for global history.

The project was approved but never materialized due to technical issues with the building. The attached image is a visualization of the project, which was planned to be created at the intersection of Grzybowska and Żelazna Streets in Warsaw.
